SAFETY — FOUNDING PUBLIC BETA

MDN is navigation—not emergency response.

Use official emergency, crisis, medical, legal, military, housing, or benefits channels when a situation cannot safely wait for an educational tool.

Emergency use

Do not use MDN for an emergency. If you may be in immediate danger or need urgent medical help, use emergency services appropriate to your location.

Veterans Crisis Line

In the United States, call 988 and press 1, or text 838255. The Veterans Crisis Line serves Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and people who support them. Overseas options vary by region.

Clinical boundary

MDN does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or determine the severity of a medical condition. It may organize information and questions for a healthcare professional. A normal test result is not automatically proof that symptoms are resolved, and MDN does not independently interpret raw clinical testing as a diagnosis.

Time-sensitive official notices

Some problems are urgent even when they are not medical emergencies. Recent VA decisions, proposed reductions, MEB/PEB elections, appeal windows, retirement or separation deadlines, coverage changes, debt notices, survivor events, and housing instability may carry deadlines. Use the date and instructions on the official notice and contact the responsible agency or qualified professional rather than waiting on MDN.

Housing instability and homelessness

Veterans facing homelessness or immediate housing instability should use current official VA and community resources rather than relying on an educational pathway alone.

Restricted or government networks

Do not bypass organizational security controls, filtering, endpoint protections, or access restrictions to make MDN work on a government or employer-managed device. Use approved channels or an authorized personal device/network when appropriate.

Private information

Do not paste medical records, identifiers, passwords, claim numbers, or other sensitive information into a field that does not require it. Use short, de-identified labels where MDN asks for condition or issue descriptions.
